NATIONAL FOOD AND VETERINARY  RISK ASSESSMENT INSTITUTE OF LITHUANIA

National Food and Veterinary Risk Assessment Institute was established in 2008 (on the basis of the National Veterinary Laboratory) with the aim to strengthen consumer health protection.

National Food and Veterinary Risk Assessment Institute is assigned risk assessment institution in Lithuania providing scientific and technical assistance in the field of food safety and veterinary, as well performing functions of the national reference laboratory and carrying out laboratory tests in the areas of food and feed safety, quality and animal health.

National Food and Veterinary Risk Assessment Institute is accountable to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania.

 

OUR MISSION

Our mission - to protect human and animal health.

Assessing and identifying risks in the fields of food safety and veterinary, providing scientific and technical assistance and carrying out laboratory investigations of food, feed and animal diseases, we contribute to consumer health, food safety and prevention and control of animal diseases.

 

OUR VISION

Our vision - to be a competent food and veterinary risk assessment body with strong scientific base, high qualified experts and effectively functioning innovative laboratory successfully operating towards public and animal health protection.
