FACTS AND FIGURES
- Established in 2008 after reorganization of the National Veterinary Laboratory (since 1945) and State Inspection of Veterinary Medicines;
- Total number of staff across the Institute – 285 (including its territorial branches). Total number of graduates – 201, postgraduates (doctorate holders) – 12 (2020);
- More than 1 million laboratory tests are carried out every year;
- More than 400 methods of laboratory tests have been accredited;
- Services are provided for more than 6 000 business operators;
- During 2012-2020 about 600 scientific and technical opinions and risk assessments were presented;
- Every year about 40 specialists from third countries are trained mainly in the field of laboratory activities;
- Every year the Institute is visited by more than 40 Lithuanian and foreign delegations.
